Functionaility Final

Functionality

The final functionality for my project has been decided.

The functionality will consist of:

Login/Signup System
After some speak with industry professionals the best way to achieve this will be using php, as I haven't done this before I have found a tutorial which will allow me to implement this successfully.

Viva One Feedback

Feedback:

Viva one was a few weeks ago now, overall I achieved a 2:1 for this which I was very impressed with and I exceeded my expectation.

Leading up to the presentation I spent a lot of time preparing and ensuring that I had enough of the correct material to present. I spent time practicing the presentation and ensuring everything that I had flowed together well and was enough to score me a decent mark.

The mock viva we had the week before helped a lot as this allowed me to see that I was on the right track and doing the right thing.

The mock viva also allowed me to adjust my presentation style, I was told in the Viva that I was talking to fast and didn't give my audience enough time to look at the material on screen, before flicking slides.

I adjusted this for the actual marked presentation, I spoke slow and explained well. I was able to answer every question with a structured useful answer.

So overall I did well and deserved the mark I achieved. 

I wasn't given sufficient feedback to what I can improve, but It was probably my presentation style.

Logo Design

This afternoon I have spent some time designing six logo's and receiving feedback on these. Instead of just asking my classmates I put it on the public forum which is my facebook profile.

The Logo's:

I left this up on my facebook for 2 hours and then collected the results after wards.

Overall 22 People answered and this was the result:

It was suggested that for number two rather than having </TwitSnip> I put <TwitSnip/> this is the edited version.

2 also happens to by personal favourite. 

The reason I decided to put this out to my facebook friends was because I had spent to much time staring at this for any of them to look good!

Feedback from mock viva

Overall went really well.

Not many improvments to make however I must make sure to put a pause point within the presentation as I was getting flustered when presentating.

Improvements

Pause points will be included when talking about logo and concept design.

Mock Viva

I have my first Viva Coming up these are the things I need to include:

Indicative content
Project definition
Research opportunities, methods and techniques
Project synopsis
Project treatment
Project planning
Target audience identification and user expectation
Further development in project design or definition such as concept sketches, storyboards, animatics, test shots, test recordings etc
Audio-visual communication techniques
Specific to the student’s research needs, with advice and support from specialist academic staff

I’m designing and coding a web tool to take data snapshots from Twitter hash tags. The data will then be processed and represented as a visual indication of where and to what extent Tweets are trending. The concept intends to give companies a competitive advantage by targeting their marketing at receptive demographic and geographic hotspots.
